Sim Settlements Fallout 4 Holotape
Fallout 4 Sim Settlements Mod allows you to make Fallout 4 a bit more realistic when it comes to how the settlements are handled by making it possible for NPCs to live independent lives and build things without your input. Hence, the goal of the mod is to make the settlements feel more like the towns from Sim City, which means that you can.
Sorry to bust the mood, but that trailer stole my sweetroll. It looks like gamebryo AGAIN! By that I mean that we may be dealing with more bugs, more crashes and freezes, more corrupt game saves, corrupt spawns that ctd a few seconds upon entering an infected cell, npcs in crucified position, placed objects exploding when you bump into them, and poor optimization having to wait for mods to address them. The nightmare never ends because of that damn engine, man. And are they going to try to introduce paid mods for FO4 now? @Shoosh Malooka I hear a lot of players say this stuff but I have never had these problems in my game.In the last 3 years alone I have played FO3 and NV well over 40 times and not 1 crash or crucified position, the only problem I have ever had was having to reinstall after about the 3 play through before the game started to act funny but once I reinstall the game it ran just fine for me.Just like Sims 2 I have very few mods in and most of those are just adult skins.Only time I had a problem in Skyrim is when I put in a poorly made mod but once I took it out the game ran great.
What do you think about the strong likelihood that the game will have a fully-voiced main character? On the Nexus forums, this was pointed out in the trailer that at the end, the protagonist speaks to the dog. Links were also posted supporting the fact that voice actors were cast for the main protagonist.A large part of what I love about games like this, is I can develop the character exactly how I see in my mind's eye. Although I did enjoy games like DA:I and Mass Effect that have a fully-voiced protagonist, I usually feel more freedom to imagine in Beth games as I can imagine my character's voice and personality. Sometimes the voice and personality the game dev chose for a fully-voiced character just doesn't fit what I imagined for my character. How about the rumored possibility we will only be able to play as a male protagonist? Saw this on the Nexus forums and followed the link.
Quote:This woman was mocked at the time but so far what she's said has been on the money not just the date and location but if you check out of the developer making the spin off you'll find they're a Bethesda partner and looking to hire people with Gamebryo/id Tech experience. If the post in genuine then it's not looking good for those who want choices.I went to that link, and although it's pretty early, it does seem like there is a lot of truth to what she said.Honestly, if that's true, I don't think I'll be even half as interested in the game as I was. I always prefer to play as a female protagonist and I just seem to feel a more personal attachment to my character if she is female.
A fully-voiced male-only character also seems quite a departure from past titles, but then games in the past have gone backwards in what you can do with your character (i.e. DA:O to DA2), so it sounds plausible.I know we can just wait and see, but I figure we've got a few months to go till release and I just feel like talking about it. I personally can go either way with voiceovers for protagonists. For me, it doesn't take away from the fun not have one.
If it's done well, it can add a ton of immersion like Jen Hale's f!shep in Mass Effect. If it's not so good like the f!consular in SWTOR for example, or is too far afield from how I picture the character like either of the f!Inquisitor voices in DA:I, then it can kind of suck. So I guess it would just depend on how it was done and how good the voice actors were.

I'd probably just roll with it either way, although I would really prefer if a lady vault dweller wasn't done by Jen Hale (who is an excellent actress) cause she's like in every damned game I play, LMAO.What would be a complete and utter dealbreaker for me would be if we had to play as a dude protagonist. It's probably the only thing they could do to keep me from buying this game. This is my favorite series of all time. I've loved these games since I fired the first one up in 1997 and I would be utterly heartbroken if I couldn't play a female main character. It would be nice to play as a male or female but its not a deal breaker for me, all I want is Fallout 4 to have a great story line and after the story is over to play on and on and on.It did say that after the story is over you can do a sex change and play as a female but all that is, is hear-say and has not been proven either way.And like other have said all the info she put out was leaked in other post on other sites well before she made her post.In several post around the net it said the trailer was made in-game and if that is so just look at the detail from this shot. Bashing about graphics of the game are because of the low-res mountains in one picture, but I think that is because, first of all, game world is huge, and second, the image was taken on 4k resolution. It's expected.Textures actually look well done, but, what I'm concerned about are character models.
Npc's look nice, but both main character and the dog look somewhat low-res textured and low-poly.EDIT: Holly shit! The vibrant style actually fits very well here. Actually, it seems like it fits all of the next-gen games. And everyone is taking that practice. Here is a link to all of the ingame screen shots if any one else wants one for there desktop background. Those look okay to me, could be better. But you can't count on those to represent how the game will actually look on release. Those could be the game on ultra settings in their beta BEFORE deciding to scale things back for wide compatibility and performance.
Remember when we were drooling at skyrim 'screenshots' and then the game came out and looked nowhere nearly as great as the 'leaked' material? That's what bethesda is. On a more positive swing, those pics could even be high res at lower settings for. Reasons as shown by other game companies' movements.cough, witcher 3 horrible downgrade.

I like the sound of this. The description isn't entirely clear to me, does it make Settlers go ahead and choose their own jobs and so on?
Also, it would be cool if you could get a settlement blueprint, set it and have your settlers build the settlement from the blueprint over time. Like, you go out adventuring and come back to see that in the time you were gone your settlers had built up the dorm house and the kitchen. That way you could design the settlement in another game with tgm, and it can be built realistically in your own game provided you have the materials. You could speed up construction if you have scavenging stations and work stations from NorthlandDiggers getting materials over time. Until you have the plots to make a glue farm:p Yes it does make life in Horizon easier.
But holy hell does it make settlement building feel. Settler A builds their house as they like it (holotape options can make it feel as if they spend a couple days, in game, doing this), and then goes on to expand their own crop field, scrap pile, as needed. This is only going to grow, and it is a great thing. Imagine defense plots, cooking/hosting a bar/commune/whatever plots, etc.

Sim Settlements Holotape Not Appearing
This mod is, an amazing start. This is mostly to the people who ask if modding was dead a while back. Yes it can be, until Beth stops making updates, and then the world of FO4 is EVERYONES oyster, as it were. I just wanted to stop by and say this is an amazing mod with an extremely solid release (and the few major bugs the author has been very proactive in addressing). It actually makes you invested in your settlements in the sense you get to watch them change. I have always felt that whenever I set out to design a settlement, I would make a plan, spend HOURS getting it to look just right, and then unless the place was attacked or ran out of beds, I never went back. Now, I want to go back to see how the settlement has changed, what crops they are growing, and how their houses look.Overall, a brilliant mod.
