Ex-Royal Ballet star, 61, who danced with Freddie Mercury appears in court charged with sexually assaulting three girls under 14. Stephen Beagley was one of Britain's leading dancers in the 1970s and 1980s. He was charged with 12 alleged sexual assaults on three girls aged under 14. All of the alleged offences are said to have happened between 1997 and 2010.

In addition to companies in Britain, he has taught in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and New Zealand.In 1994 he designed and built a ballet studio in Japan, teaching students from aged three.Beagley, who was supported in court by friends, was bailed to appear before Lewes Crown Court on June 13.
